EFFECTIVE TEACHING OF ENGLISH TO ENGINEERING STUDENTS: EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS AND MODERN TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to substantiate the importance and necessity of integrating professionally oriented materials into educational programs, the use of modern technologies and the development of effective teaching methods that contribute to the progress of students’ communicative skills and mastery of professional terminology. The section analyses the key elements of this process – the development of teaching aids and textbooks taking into account the specifics of technical specialties, the inclusion of highly specialized authentic educational materials (scientific articles, technical reports, instructions) and the use of multimedia and interactive learning tools aimed at improving linguistic and professional skills. The results of the study confirm that these elements in combination contribute to the creation of an engaging educational environment that takes note of engineering students’ needs and helps them successfully master English for professional use, which increases students’ motivation, improves their educational outcomes and, as a result, their competitiveness in the global labour market.
