Abstract

The earliest humanitarian research on the network began long before the Internet as it exists today. Back in the 1970s there was only an interdependent computer network, and research was devoted to communication using a local or global computer network. The first monographs that directed the subsequent research were published in the framework of social psychology: J. Short, E. Williams, B. Christie [Short, Williams & Christie, 1976: 432–474]; S. Hiltz, M. Turoff [Hiltz & Turoff, 1978: 179–189]. In the 80s, the spectrum of attention of scientists turned to the study of the communicative aspect in the network and the analysis of its impact on organizational structures. Finally, in the 90s the emphasis of the research is directed straight to the Internet itself, and, in addition to interpersonal communication, gaming and cognitive activities using the World Wide Web begin to be explored [Unnithan, Gossop & Strang, 1992: 654–657]. ...
